How to book online

To book directly, first check availability for your preferred dates in the calendar below.

Then enter the desired check-in or check-out date in the corresponding fields of the search mask and select how many people you would like to travel with. Then click on "Search".

You will then see your booking details and total price. You can also add available extras such as dinner. Click "Select" to confirm each choice you wish to book. In the final step, simply enter your personal details and click "Book now" – done!

Arrival & departure

Minimum stay: one night.

Check-in and arrival is possible from 16.00 on the day of arrival. Early check-in is available for € 40 – please let us know in advance.

As our reception is not always staffed, please let us know your arrival time. On the day of departure, your room and the grounds of the Löffelmühle are available until 11 am.

When you check out, at 11.00 a.m. at the latest, your stay ends and it is time to say au revoir.

Parking is available for the duration of your stay only.

Dining

Breakfast is served at the table, between 8.30 and 10.30 am – included in the room rate.

In the evening, Jean-Paul cooks for you:

Surprise menu (3 courses): € 75 per person – request by 5 pm on the same day
Seasonal menu (5 courses, min. 2 guests): € 95 per person – reserve at least 48 hours ahead

Allergies, intolerances, or preferences such as gluten-free or lactose-free? Please let us know in advance – we do our best to accommodate them, at extra cost.

We do not offer vegan cuisine.

Kitchen hours: 7.30–9.30 pm.

Self-catering is not possible. Please do not bring outside food or drinks into the rooms or onto the grounds. Please do not use kettles or other electrical appliances.

House rules

The Löffelmühle is a retreat for adults and young adults aged 16 and over. Please understand that our house is not suitable for families with children.

Our rooms and suite are available for single or double occupancy only. We do not offer multi-bed or family rooms. Extra beds cannot be brought in.

Pets are not permitted.

Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the house – including the courtyard.

Celebrations and events of any kind do not take place at Löffelmühle – in the name of the quiet that makes this place what it is. This also applies to groups looking to book the house exclusively.

The Löffelmühle is also home to animals – cats, chickens, donkeys. Please do not feed them.

Parts of the house are under video surveillance (entrance, shop, lounge). Self-service is not permitted.

Our souvenirs are popular – please pay for them before they leave with you.

Cancellation & payment

Payment by credit card (Giro, VISA, Mastercard).

Cancellation policy for direct bookings:

Up to 14 days before arrival: free of charge
After that: 70 % of the total amount
On the day of arrival or no-show: 90 % of the total amount

Cancellation fees will be charged to the credit card on file. We consider each case individually and do our best to find a fair solution.

For larger bookings (3–4 rooms) or bookings made more than 6 months in advance, we may require a 50 % prepayment. The conditions above apply to the remaining 50 %.

Cancellation policy for packages:

Up to 4 weeks before arrival: 70 % of the total amount
Up to 1 week before arrival: 90 % of the total amount

For bookings through external platforms, their cancellation policies apply.

Our recommendation: take out travel cancellation insurance.

Unser magischer Rückzugsort, an dem die Zeit langsamer wird… Nun waren wir bereits zum vierten Mal in der Löffelmühle – und schon bei unserem ersten Besuch war uns klar, welch besonderen und wundervollen Ort wir hier durch Zufall entdeckt haben. Ein sozusagen magischer Ort, an dem wir aus der Welt bzw. aus dem Alltag aussteigen und einfach nur wir selbst sein können. Bereits oben vor der Zufahrt schalten wir unsere Telefone aus. Natürlich gibt es in der Mühle WLAN – aber wir brauchen es hier definitiv nicht. Im Gegenteil: Wir können jedem nur empfehlen, die Zeit, die Ruhe und die Aura dort ganz bewusst ohne Medien zu genießen. Sobald man die Pforten hinunter zur Löffelmühle passiert, scheint die Zeit automatisch langsamer zu laufen. Das Rauschen des Baches, das Zwitschern der Vögel, der Wald, die Eichhörnchen, die Hühner und die liebevoll gepflegten Esel lassen einen sofort zur Ruhe kommen. Auch im Inneren spürt man überall die Liebe zum Detail. Alles ist mit unglaublich viel Geschmack, Stil und Feingefühl eingerichtet und dekoriert. Hochwertige Materialien, wunderschöne Details und eine Atmosphäre, in der man sich sofort wohlfühlt. Die Zimmer sind alle bis ins in den kleinsten Winkel durchdacht – einfach zum Ankommen und Bleiben. Kulinarisch ist die Mühle ebenfalls das non plus ultra. Hervorragende Produkte auf höchstem Niveau, ein wunderbares Frühstück und natürlich Jean-Paul, der uns in seiner „Cuisine“ jedes Mal aufs Neue mit seinem liebevoll zubereiteten Überraschungsmenü begeistert. Dazu ein guter Wein (wir lieben Lafage) – besser kann ein Abend kaum sein. Die Kuchen von Herrn Hein, ein absoluter Traum. Doch das Schönste ist dieses besondere Gefühl, das die Löffelmühle schenkt: Zeit für sich, für Zweisamkeit, und für Ruhe - also für die wirklich wichtigen Dinge. Ein ganz herzliches Dankeschön an Sie, Herr Hein und an Sie, Herr Schmit. Dafür, dass Sie diesen Schatz Inmitten des Waldes seit 2017 mit so viel Liebe und Hingabe bewahren. Wir hoffen von Herzen, dass Sie die Löffelmühle noch viele, viele Jahre genauso weiterführen können und mit uns weiterhin diesen wunderbaren Platz für eine kurze Zeit teilen können, an dem die Uhren langsamer ticken und an dem die Welt noch in Ordnung ist. Einen ganz besonderen Platz in unseren Erinnerungen hat Ihr lieber Esel Elias, den wir leider seit dem 3. Januar nicht mehr begrüßen können. I dont usually do long commentarys but to understand the full picture here it is! Background Two Aussies travelling through Europe and Germany. We were looking for a place to stay near Elze Castle and found this property so we took a chance and booked our stay. After reading their webpage and all the things they were offering as a matter of ease we decided to book dinner at the B & B. We were a little unsure as some of the packages on their web page (Food, Champagne, Chocolates etc) seemed very expensive and at euro 65 per person plus drinks we thought it was bit expensive (for a B & B) but again for ease we stuck with it. Our Review We were greated by two guys who called themselves Jean-Paul and Roland. They were very peasant, showed us around and made us most welcome. After settling in we walked around the wonderful property and along the stream. A pleasant change from Nurembeurg City Centre :) We booked the Fauna room and it was lovely. It was actually a number of rooms, very large, modern, beautifuly styled, open fireplace, large bedroom with a large TV behind the sliding bookcase and in the lounge a massive floor to ceiling window looking outside and onto the river. It was stunning. These guys have spent an absolute fortune on this place and everyhing has been carefully thought out and planned to the enth degree. We were told dinner was at 7. 30pm so we went down early for a drink. Jean- Paul was fluffing around in the kitchen then he asked us to sit at our table. We were served with a 5 course meal that was so tasty, fresh, well prepared and presented beautifully. All cooked from scratch by Jean-Paul. At this point we now thought that euro 65 pp was very cheap and we would have expected to pay at least euro150 pp elswhere with lesser quality. We sat for 2 .5hrs while we enjoyed the wonderful surroundings, lovely food and great service by Roland. After 38 years of marraige my wife and I usually spend just over an hour in a restaurant so 2.5hrs was very unusual for us. We were told brekky was from 8.30 onwards. We went down for brekky and apart from the usal cereals etc there was a magnificient platter of meats, cheeses, breads etc again presented beautifully. These two guys are just amazing as is the property, food and surrounding. It is an experience you should not miss out on. PS. I know the above sounds like a sales pitch but we have travelled the world and its not often you find a little gem like this. Congratulations to both Jean-Paul and Roland.
